Salim Malla

Salim Malla (born 1976, Vitoria-Gasteiz) is a Basque visual artist and researcher of Syrian descent whose work navigates the boundaries between art, science, and social structures.

With a multidisciplinary background in Fine Arts and Topographic Engineering, Malla employs an eminently scientific gaze from an artistic perspective to deconstruct how we perceive reality. His practice focuses on questioning established conventions—from the measurement of time and space to the objectivity of data—utilizing this rigorous methodology to explore issues of Arab identity and Orientalism, ultimately challenging the frameworks that shape both geographical and cultural perception.
